As of September 1, 2026, newly generated self-enrollment keys now use a shorter, 16-character hyphenated format to make it easier for students to read and copy keys during in-person classes (such as from a whiteboard or presentation screen).
When you generate a new key, it will appear in the following format: XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX.
What happens to my existing active keys?
Your currently active enrollment keys will continue to work normally. They will not automatically change to the new format, so there is no disruption to students who already have the older, longer key.
How to get the new, shorter key format
When an active enrollment key expires, or if you want to switch to the new format to make classroom enrollment easier, you can do so by manually regenerating your enrollment key in your class settings.
Once regenerated, the system will immediately issue a new 16-character hyphenated key.
