Whether an instructor can edit a student's name or email address depends on whether the student has logged in to their Turnitin account for the first time.
Visual indicator: In the class roster, any student account that has not yet been accessed will display an enrollment date highlighted in pink. As long as this highlight is visible, an instructor can edit the student's details.
Who can update student details?
Select your role below to find out how to update user information:
Instructors can edit a student's name and email address only before the student logs in to their Turnitin account.
Once the student logs in for the first time, the pink highlight disappears, the profile locks, and only the student can update their own account information.

Once you have logged in to your Turnitin account, your instructor can no longer change your account information. You must make any updates to your name or email address yourself through your profile settings.
