To ensure account security, Turnitin accounts that have been inactive for six months or more are automatically locked.
If your account is locked, you will first be prompted to reset your password when attempting to log in. Once your password has been successfully reset and you log in, you will experience one of the following scenarios depending on your class status:
Instructors with active classes: You will see the message: "You have been locked out of the account, please contact your account administrator."
Instructors with no active classes: You will not see a message, but the Add Class button will be unavailable.
Note: Your institution's administrator can also manually lock user accounts at their discretion.
How to regain access
Please contact your institution's Turnitin account administrator. Only your administrator can review your account status, determine if access can be reactivated, and unlock it for you.
