When attempting to view a student's submission in Canvas SpeedGrader, you may encounter the message: "No Preview Available."
This is expected behavior for LTI 1.3 submissions uploaded prior to July 16, 2026.
Cause
On July 16, 2026, Turnitin released an update allowing instructors to view and grade Turnitin LTI 1.3 Standard Assignment and Turnitin Clarity submissions directly within Canvas SpeedGrader.
Since this capability applies exclusively to submissions made after the July 16 feature release, any student submissions uploaded before this date cannot be rendered or graded within the SpeedGrader iFrame.
Workaround & solution
While these older submissions cannot be previewed directly within SpeedGrader, you can still easily access, review, and grade the student's work:
Navigate to your Canvas assignment.
Open the Turnitin Submission List.
Select the student's submission to launch the Turnitin Similarity Report and Feedback Studio in a new window.
Note: All new student submissions uploaded after July 16, 2026 will automatically display and render within SpeedGrader as expected.
