Existing account administrators can grant administrator privileges to new or current team members within iThenticate 2.0.
Prerequisite: You can only add or manage administrators if you have fully set up your own administrator account using the activation link in your welcome email.
How to assign administrator permissions
Select your scenario below for step-by-step instructions:
To create a new user profile with administrator access:
- Log in to iThenticate as an administrator.
- Navigate to user management and begin adding a user (view our guide on adding users individually).
- In the user role settings, configure the following options:
- Account admin role: Select Yes.
-
Product roles: Select Product Admin.
- Save the new user profile to send an activation invite email.
To grant administrator privileges to someone who already has an iThenticate account:
- Log in to iThenticate as an administrator.
- Navigate to user management and locate the user's profile.
- Select the option to edit user details.
-
Change Account admin role to Yes and set Product roles to Product Admin.
- Save your changes.
Transferring administrator access
Important note on leaving your role: If you are leaving your position and no longer need administrator access, you must first create or promote the new administrator following the steps above. Once their account is active, the new administrator can adjust your permissions, deactivate, or delete your user account as needed.
