The LTI integration requires that an email address be present in the student and/or instructor profile within the LMS. If no email address is entered, the error message Turnitin LTI Error - Field "lis_person_contact_email_primary" is not a valid email address will appear.
To verify that an email address is entered within the Learning Management System (LMS), please consult your LMS-specific help guides on accessing your profile information.
It is also important to verify that the user account is not set to anonymous, as this could hide the email address from Turnitin.
Note: This error message will appear to instructors while in the Student View. The Student View for instructors does not pass on a valid email address and role to Turnitin, and therefore cannot be used to preview the assignment.
