The Writing Consistency section of the Authorship Report analyzes a submission for specific linguistic patterns, including:
Spelling Consistency
Readability Scores
Vocabulary Richness
Average Sentence Length
Phrases Per Sentence
Why is my report empty?
If your Writing Consistency Report fails to return results or appears blank, it is most likely due to the formatting of the document.
Currently, the Authorship tool does not support text extraction from tables. If a significant portion of the paper, or the entire submission, is contained in tables, our system cannot analyze the text to generate consistency data. This is because text within tables typically does not follow the standard natural language patterns required for an accurate linguistic analysis.
Recommended Workaround
To generate a Writing Consistency Report for a document currently using tables, please follow these steps:
Modify the document: Remove the tables from the paper or convert the table text into standard paragraph formatting
-
Resubmit the File:
Direct Upload - Upload the revised file directly to Authorship
Via Paper ID - If your institution uses Turnitin Feedback Studio (TFS), you can upload the revised file to TFS first and then use the new Paper ID to generate the Authorship Report
