When attempting to add or edit a Turnitin assignment in a Moodle course that has passed its end date, you may encounter the following error:
Error message: date_end must be after the start date
Why this happens
Turnitin classes automatically sync with Moodle courses. When a Moodle course reaches its scheduled end date, the corresponding Turnitin class closes automatically, preventing any new assignments from being created or existing settings from being edited.
How to fix this issue
- Go to your course settings in Moodle.
- Update the Course end date to a future date.
- Select Save and display.
- Retry creating or editing your Turnitin assignment.
Note: Once you have finished creating or editing your Turnitin assignment, you can set the Moodle course end date back to its original date if needed.
