Submitting papers after the due date depends entirely on the rules set by your instructor.
Can I make a late submission?
You can only submit work after the deadline if your instructor has explicitly enabled the Allow late submissions option in the assignment settings. This setting is managed at the instructor's discretion.
When late submissions are enabled, the system operates under these strict rules:
First-time submissions only: You can make a late submission only if you have not already submitted a file to that specific assignment.
No late resubmissions: Resubmissions are never allowed after the due date. Even if the assignment allows you to overwrite submissions, and even if it accepts late papers, you can only resubmit up until the exact due date and time—never after.
What counts as "late"?
An assignment is flagged as late the exact second the deadline passes.
The system measures the submission time based on when the entire file upload process is completed, not when you click the upload button.
For example, if a submission attempt is initiated 1 minute before the due time but is completed 1 minute after it (taking into consideration the time spent to complete the two-step submission process), it will be marked as late.
To avoid late penalties or being locked out of your assignment, we strongly recommend allowing plenty of time to fully complete the submission process before the deadline.
