This article is intended for customers who use a Turnitin Core API (TCA) custom integration and want to retrieve or display the AI Writing score directly within their own platform's interface.
API Limitation: Retrieving the AI Writing score through the API is not currently supported. Customers cannot pull this score directly via the API to display it in a custom integration, regardless of whether the account has the TCA package or an active AI Writing license.
How to Access AI Writing Scores
While the AI score cannot be passed through the API to your custom interface, users can still access the AI Writing information as long as your integration successfully displays the Turnitin Similarity score.
Users can launch the document viewer from your integration and access the AI report directly through the submission’s Similarity Report. For step-by-step instructions on locating this within the viewer, please refer to our guide on How to access the AI Writing Report.
Note on Student Visibility: The AI Writing detection indicator and report are not visible to students. However, instructors can use the PDF download feature within the document viewer to download the AI Writing Report and share it with students if needed.
