How to resubmit or upload a revision in iThenticate

Purchasing a single submission credit allows users to make 1 submission up to 25,000 words* and includes 5 revisions. *The number of words is determined when a document is submitted and may vary by a few percent from the number of words reported in your word processing software.

To upload a revision of your document:

  • Log into your iThenticate account
  • Locate the document you wish to submit a revision for
  • Click on the blue upward arrow icon located under the Actions heading
  • This will take you to the Upload Revision screen where you can fill in the document's information and choose a document to upload
  • To complete the revision, click on the Upload button

The new upload replaces the existing version of the document, and a new Similarity Report will be generated.

To successfully upload a revision, the revised document must be based on the existing document and be no more than 40% different from the previous submission for it to be considered a revision; otherwise, the system will not allow you to upload the document as a revision and an error -904 may be displayed.  Any more than a 40% difference between the current submission and the revised document will require you to use or purchase additional credits to submit the document as a new submission.
